About

Turvey practises predominantly in the areas of planning and environmental disputes (including crime in these areas), building and construction disputes, and in a variety of commercial disputes. In the planning and environmental area, his work includes acting on development and environmental appeals, compulsory acquisition, civil enforcement, judicial review of administrative and statutory actions, and prosecutions.  He act for proponents, neighbours, other professionals involved in the development process, local government and other statutory authorities.

Consistently recognised by Doyle’s Guide as one of NSW’s leading Planning & Environment junior counsel, from 2016 to 2025, including being ranked as pre-eminent in 2024 & 2025.

In the building and construction area, Turvey’s work includes acting on residential building and commercial/infrastructure disputes, and security of payment actions. Acting for individual owners through to large developers, builders and subcontractors. In the commercial disputes area, his work is highly varied including disputes involving a wide range of real property rights (e.g., title disputes, strata disputes, encroachments, easements and covenants), development agreements, retail and commercial leasing, loans, and other consumer/business and business/business disputes.
